Blizzard Prep

Today was the first real snowfall, school dismissed early, and it wasn't TOO cold outside so we accomplished our blizzard preparations (at least those truly important to Jack and Abby....).
  • boots, coat, and snow pants--check (although I had forgotten what fun it is to dress a 19 month old in these!)
  • hats, neck warmers, gloves--check
  • sled--still works--check
  • shovels--found and still work--check
  • slide on play set--CHECK--discovered this becomes the SUPER FAST child-launcher slide when a little snow and ice are added :-)!!  The kids LOVED it!  Fortunately, only one minor bump on the nose injury.
Jack had a ball with the neighbor kids enjoying the first snowfall!  Abby wasn't quite so sure about it.  She wanted to be outside but didn't quite like that the snow practically came up to the top of her boots.  She pretty much enjoyed being held and joyfully watching the other kids having fun in the snow.

After the afternoon outside, Jack couldn't wait for Daddy to get home so he go help shovel the driveway--AGAIN!  Gotta love winter!

  1. I still laugh when I picture the kids literally flying down the slide! As much of a pain getting ready to go outside is, it truly is worth seeing the smiles on their faces when they are enjoying the winter snow!
